Description

A steel door without a handle, frame, or lintel. It is impossible to describe as a singular object because it appears only after a room has already decided to stop being a room.

Narrative

the last door was not there when we came up. it appeared after the lights failed. there were three sets of footprints in the dust and one pair leading away from the staircase, back toward the landing. no one had entered the stairwell in hours.
