Description
The original memo is partially burned around the edges. A single sentence remains intact: they were told not to use the staircase after midnight, because the walls would remember the voices of those who climbed it.

Do not answer if the bells ring from below. Someone is keeping the same count as the previous shift. Final note: the walls are tired of being told the same story twice.
Narrative
we have been instructed not to re-open the doors in the west stairwell after 00:00. the maintenance routings are not for public use and are not to be discussed. there is no record of a second stairwell, but the numbered doors still appear in the same sequence on the lower floors.
